In loving memory
Meebo & Mia
Two dogs who shared our home and our years. Remembered together, the way they lived.
For Meebo and Mia, who asked for so little and gave back everything —
good kids, both.
Some of the family you are given; some of it walks in on four legs and decides, without asking, that this is home now. Meebo and Mia were the second kind. This page is for my beloved pet children.
Meebo
Meebo was brought in when he was weeks old. I didn't want to keep him permanently, but since he was a stray and the dog in the colony was vicious toward the little puppy, we decided to keep him. And boy, did we make the right call.
Meebo was the protective one. Scared of fireworks and thunder, but he never shied away from defending Mia, whenever she landed into trouble.
Meebo kept the window. He knew the sound of the right footsteps from several floors away, and he was always at the door before the key turned. He would know when I'd be approaching from a kilometer away. He is remembered.
Mia
Mia was a puppy when we adopted her. She was the friendliest and sweetest dog you'd ever meet. Always wagging her tail and couldn't tell friend from foe. Mia met the world open-mouthed and delighted. A walk was never just a walk; it was the best thing that had ever happened all expressed by a wagging tail, again. She is remembered.
No longer at the window, no longer at the door — but still, somehow, home.
Daddy loves & misses you.
